Recipe: Asian Chicken Lettuce Wrap
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger
- 1 pound LaBelle Patrimoine ground chicken
- 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 can (8 ounces) water chestnuts, drained and finely chopped
- 3 green onions, thinly sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Large leafy green lettuce, like butter or iceberg lettuce
- Fried rice for serving (optional)
Instructions
1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, and ginger and sauté until the onion becomes translucent, about 5 minutes.
2. Add the ground chicken to the skillet. Cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until it is fully cooked and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
3. Stir in the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, sriracha, and sesame oil. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
4. Add the chopped water chestnuts and green onions to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir well to combine and cook for another 2 minutes.
5. To serve, spoon a generous portion of the chicken mixture onto a lettuce leaf. If desired, you can also serve with a side of cooked rice. Enjoy!
